"Oh?" he asks, taking the seat as physically requested. His heartbeat is a little quicker, and okay, all he can think about right now is kissing her. Possibly forever, but he's willing to take the rest of the evening.
The star just grins back at him for a moment, glittering faintly once more, before patting his hand and flopping down next to him.
She seats herself closer to the bedside table, leaning over to pull the drawer open and rummage through the slight mess of paper and permanent markers with a slight grumble and an eventual cheerfully victorious noise, something small concealed in her hand.
"Well," she drawls, purposefully lengthening the word. "It is not so much giving as it is returning. And certainly not stealing, mind you, since I consider it to be a reasonable sort of payment for -" she chews her lip thoughtfully for a moment. "- for emotional distress and magic-induced trauma. Or something of the sort."
"Nothing very large," she replies, eyes bright and impish as she shifts herself closer - offering the still-closed hand out, palm facing upward and fingers curled.
Then she pulls the hand back slightly, voice lilting.
Her eyelids flutter for a moment at the sweeping contact - which should totally be considered as cheating, mind you - though her lips curl upward further, one side higher than the other.
"There are," she murmurs, blinking up at him - fingers opening underneath his, the object in her hand cold and solid. "Some advantages to being invisible, perhaps."
His hand clasps the snowdrop, feeling its chillness against the warmth of his skin, and lets out a laugh.
"Thank you," he says, pulling back a bit so he can properly see the star's face.
"I really thought I'd lost it." It means a lot more to him now than it ever did - it's something to remind him of his father, and perhaps his 'past life'.
"Well, the old bat might not have lied regarding food and lodging," she allows, his laughter warming her oddly. "But I felt that her charge was a bit excessive."
Her chin tilts regally and she shifts a bit more, closer still.
His hands are tucked into his pockets and his expression is serious and calm, hiding the touch of fear he feels.
"Yvaine, you must understand why I said that," he starts.

"And what, my dear, did you forget to give me?"

Shiny and innocent, Tristran. Shiny and innocent.

"What exactly are you hiding?" he asks, one eyebrow raised.

"Of course, if you do not want it ..."

His touch is warm, and the tingling is there, but it is all ignored in favour of his curiousity.
"Yvaine," he says, voice low.

"How did you -"
He starts to smile, head shaking slightly, amused.
"Yvaine, you are absolutely amazing."

"If you say so," she replies, propping her chin on his shoulder. "But, mostly, I am thinking that it was just yours in the first place."

"And it did look rather fine on your lapel."

There. Quite perfect, really. Just where it belongs.
Then he takes her hands and lifting them towards his lips, places a light kiss against them both.

She frees one hand, easily clearing the hair from his eyes.
Solemnly, "Not that I have any plans of sharing, mind you."

"Well it just so happens that I don't have any plans on being shared, either."

She regards him solemnly for a moment.
"I should hate to have to kill anyone unnecessarily."
