How X ended for this Kamui

During the final battle Kamui and Fuuma get separated from the rest of the Dragons and fight on Tokyo Tower. Through the usual tactics of Fuuma looking into his heart to find what's there, Kamui realizes his ultimate wish of wanting to protect everyone he holds dear and not just seeing Fuuma as himself again. It is through this wish he is able to create a kekkai for the first time. However, it doesn't go as expected. The size of the kekkai requires a sacrifice be made. In short: the shinken requires blood. It requires the life of its opposite for the barrier to permanently hold. This causes Kamui to hesitate.

Fuuma, whether through "destiny" controlling him or the bit of himself that's still left, emotionally blackmails and goads Kamui into beheading him. If Kamui truly wishes to protect the world he should be willing to kill one person no matter how dear to save everyone else. How could he be so selfish to let Kotori's death be in vain if he lets the world die? Would he really let Fuuma live with the guilt of killing his own sister? Would he be so selfish to not only fail in protecting Kotori, but to let his mother's death be in vain, too?

It doesn't help Fuuma smiles sweetly and says "thank you" right before he's decapitated, becoming the sacrifice necessary to save the world.

The only other members of the Dragons of Heaven who survive are Yuzuriha and Arashi, Subaru is nowhere to be found, and Princess Hinoto managed to commit suicide before her darker side could interfere further.

Kamui is a mess because of all this. He spends a couple months in the hospital for his injuries and under constant observation as a high-risk case for suicide. Through the help of Arashi and Yuzuriha, Kamui recovers enough to be released. This is under the condition he stays under their care and regularly sees a counselor. A month before being pulled onto the Crucible he decides to return to school. Everyone who died would want him to try to continue living, right?

Strengths: Kamui is an agile and capable fighter and able to use several holy techniques--usually in the form of energy flare ups to blast his opponents away. When it comes to a purely physical confrontation he's good and often relies more on speed than brute strength due to his small size. It times of crisis he's a great, though often reluctant, leader.
