I refuse to celebrate until 26 seconds after 1:59. :D

But 1:59am has already passed, and 1:59pm is more like 13:59.

...of course, you can't really have 15:92, either.

Bah! It'll be 1:59 somewhere.

Besides, pi is an infinite series, so I could celebrate Mid-Pi Day on, say, June 26th at 4:33. That's about 20 digits in, but any date and time should theoretically exist in there. Kinda like an unbirthday.

Actually, just because pi is transcendental doesn't mean that it necessarily contains every sequence within it. I saw a proof for it once.

Short version: What we know of pi includes all of the digits from 0 to 9. But you can still have a non-repeating infinite sequence using all of the digits from 0 to 8 -- in other words, if 9 were to suddenly disappear from pi after a few million digits, pi would still be transcendental, but no sequence containing 9 would ever be found after the first few million digits.

Why does the piez icon have a SAD face. Pie is joy!

Old inside joke. The phrase "piez :(" was originally a statement of disappointment at a lack of pie; soon after, it was no longer strictly associated with lack of pie, but disappointment in general.

Of course, the sentiment behind the phrase has nothing to do with why I used the icon here. :B
