Had a great time with the lovely unjapanologist at the Air and Space museum today. Perhaps I could have picked something more fandom relevant but hey, space is cool. I also got to pick her brain a little, ask questions about her studies, when my daughter was not throwing temper tantrums, that is. *sigh*  Humiliating barely describes it.

It sucked to cut it short ( Read more... )

Air and Space Museum! I think I remember going there when I lived like two blocks from it, but my long-term memory sucks. Too bad your daughter was unhappy, kids seemed to eat that place up. Meeting online friends are great, particularly internationally.

Sorry to hear about your medical troubles, and argh sinus infections are the devil's own torment. Is it okay to walk on that knee?

Thanks for the congrats, heh.I have resolved not to announce the wedding on social media because it seems too mundane and like comment-trolling, but it's great to know my friends are happy for me. :)

my knee seems to be improving, but it's up and down. I have to walk on it though, my townhome has a lot of stairs.

Maybe using a cane could lessen the stress and speed recovery, but since it's improving that might not be necessary.

Back in Japan and replying to a month's worth of posts and mails. It was great to meet you! And your daughter, I'm sorry for freaking her out. The Air and Space museum is utterly fandom-relevant, I always get weird fic ideas watching any sort of random interesting thing. It was indeed too short.

But I had an adventure! I spent some more time in the museum and then went to the food court to eat. There were amazingly giant American smoothies there, so I got one for the road, but then it turned out I had to walk through the museum to get out on the street and there was a security-type person stopping everyone who tried to leave the food court with, you know, food. So I hid the giant smoothie in the side pocket of my army pants and kind of awkwardly waddled through the museum with a giant suspicious bulge on my leg. Only spilled about a quarter of it on my clothes, too. Good times.
