It took me three hours this morning, after watching the latest episode, but I finally THINK I've got my fic posted. I need to practice because I've joined three challenges and will need to post those stories eventually. Thanks for your kind reply! I really struggled with this platform in the past and nearly gave up! Now I find I've suddenly joined some comms and signed up for three challenges and I NEED to be able to post here (plus it's fun, even if it is a huge pain in the ass!)

When you post a chapter, it still has to be set to public to be read. However, down at the bottom of the posting form, there is a check box that asks "post to friends pages/RSS" - check that NO. That way, the chapters are public on ONLY on your lj, and then the Master post DOES post to friends pages, so we know your story is up :-)
