No, unfortunately lol...I know there are a couple people I in book club who don't like non-fiction. (I would LOVED to do themed book club months from time to time...biographies one month etc but I don't know how well it'd go over.) I had my fiction/non-fiction TBR had to divide it up ;)
Ooh, lots of interesting books. I can't read anything animal related or else I'll be a big blubbering mess. I do like the sound of the Alison Weir books especially The Lady in the Tower. The Girls of Murder City one sounds intriguing too.
I bought most of those dog-related books when my dog was still alive. I want to read them but can't bring myself to; I figure I'll have to give them a go if anyone ever picks them for book club. (Still, I don't know if I'll make it through.)
I love books about murderous women! I just got The Girls of Murder City with the Amazon gift card that my mom got me for Valentine's Day ;)
Cool. Be sure to let me know what it's like once you've read it. :)
*hugs* I know what you mean. I'm so pathetic that I can't even watch the happy cute animal videos that are posted on yahoo. I basically cry over everything so any sort of inspiring/tearjerking dog book is a massive no-no for me.
OMG SAM I SPENT $100 ON BOOKS @ AMAZON THIS WEEK AND ANOTHER $50 AT BARNES & NOBLE AND I AM SO ASHAMED OF MYSELF LOL. I mean, I could afford it (and $50 at Amazon was a gift card from my healthy-program-insurance-thingie) but it is not helping the fact that I am drowning in books...nevermind that book club is having the exact opposite effect it was supposed to have!!! I think I need an intervention!!!
*sorry had to get that out, it's like a shameful little secret I've been hiding...I was so glad that my mom wasn't home when FedEx delivered my Amazon boxes today lol*
I am the exact same way. We're always watching shows on Animal Planet about animals and I start crying and my mom always asks if I want her to find us something else to watch & I mean the shows make me happy in a way (when doggies are adopted or saved or whatnot), but yet they always make me weepy & sad. ::hugs you back::
I do, too, now. Unfortunately, I bought most of those books back when it didn't bother me as much to read animal-themed books (and the newer ones were gifts). I figure I should at least try to read them at some point doubting that I succeed though...
