Hello all.  I haven't posted in a while.  But I felt the need to just vent a little.  Things have been alright, except all week I've felt tired. My body is adjusting to a new medication.  I saw my dr. last week about a few issues, one being a lot of headaches.  She said it sounded like either migraine or stress headaches, but either way she wanted ( Read more... )

I get migraines and was prescribed Amitriptyline as a preventive for awhile but I didn't like it, it made me sleepy. I now take Verapamil - a calcium blocker (also used for high blood pressure) and it works much better. Hope everything turns out okay for your kitty and glad to hear the kiddos are doing well. Take care! *hugs*

Thank you for your support. Amitriptyline is what they have me on right now. My son's nurse looked it up and found the side effects and sleepiness is supposed to be normal for the first few weeks while your body adjusts.
But if my body doesn't start adjusting better by end of next week, I will definitely talk to my doctor about it and find out if it would be better for me to switch meds.

The cat's not doing well and if things don't improve in the next couple of days, we may have to do the humane thing and let her go. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Thanks for the hugs,,*hugs back*

Yeah, one of the side affects is sleepiness though I found once I got used to it and even though it didn't make me sleepy anymore I would wake up really groggy like I had taken Nyquil or something. I didn't like it.

As painful as it is, it probably is the best thing for your cat to let her go if she can't make a recovery or get better. Doesn't make it any easier but at least she won't be in pain or anything anymore.

Hope you have a good weekend at least!

Oh, so sorry about your cat! :( There's just no time when we're ready to let go of them. I hope that the meds will help her, though, and give her some more good quality time with you. *hugs you tightly* ♥♥♥!!!

SHe's had 18 good years, but it's still going to hurt when I have to let her go.

Thanks for the hugs, hon. They really help.
