And as a last random comment, does anyone else feel old when they read the numbers at the end of the friend's LJ name?Uh, yes. Although, I was glad that I didn't have to add the numbers to my name, though 73 was a good year, imho. ;) One of my friends uses the month and day for hers. It works
( ... )
I have been keeping an eye on the fics over there. The girl running it is doing Zoe/Wash. She put up a pretty hot piece the other day. I also read a very sweet Kaylee/Mal story too. I can't remember who wrote it, but hopefully it's in her table. Trash was a great episode. You know it's going to be good when it opens with a naked Mal. It's funny, I too was interrupted while watching Heart of Gold by the phone ringing. I did put it on DVD so I can watch it again later.
I think the commemorative issue is a good idea. I think that would have gone over a lot better than putting it in the TPB. I hate that I keep getting annoyed by things DD does. I really hate that I've become one of those that continually complain about the comic. What I really need to do is cut the ties to it, but I'm still drawn to the story in the hopes I find something I like.
I'll have to go read it. I know there are many Firefly topics on the BDT. Here is a nice fluff zoe/wash one and also they cross posted to a zoe/wash community which I clicked on and saw many different fics. I've probably only read a few of them, but I really haven't read a fic that I do not like. ;) http://www.livejournal.com/community/ff_fanfic/92956.html#cutid1
This linke housed my 2 favorite Kaylee/Mal drabbles. I read it at fanfic100 but I'm not even going to attempt to find it over there. :P http://www.livejournal.com/community/iluvmycaptain/3592.html#cutid1 There is a longer story over there that I must make time to read. And I see many more that are from ff100 that I haven't read. *so behind* Happy reading and writing. :)
LOL! That's why I threw in the disclaimer that I was pretty sure it meant year of birth. Since we're going with the cat theme, it could mean you *have* 83 cats. Or you just thought that 83 was a really damn good year. I just went with the most likely scenario :)

Yes, and that goes for email names also. I'm glad it's not only me feeling that way.
Yeah, you'd think DD could do a separate issue for Lady Jaye's funeral. I'd bet there's more like you who'd rather skip issue #43 completely. My comic buying days are over, regardless. I never got a chance to get that one or 42, or anything since AE 0. But, I don't feel like I'm missing anything either.
I never really cared for CSI: NY. I did catch the commercial for Monday's CSI: Miami... can't wait for that one!
does anyone else feel old when they read the numbers at the end of the friend's LJ name? I'm assuming it means year of birth which makes me a few years older than both. :)
Well, sweetie, ours are the same. So, you don't need to feel old around me! :-) When I made my name up, almost all versions of Lily of the Valley were taken, so I tacked on the 73. Not terribly original, but...meh.
As for the new girl on CSI:NY - I really like her. She was in Medical Investigation, a show I enjoyed, but only lasted like 10 episodes, if that. She was also on Without A Trace for a couple of eps and was good in that as well. I am a huge Gary Sinise fan and, try as I might, I couldn't get into CSI:NY last year. But they seem to have made massive improvements in it this year and I am now watching religiously again. But, you're right, the show is a little more character-driven than the original, which is kind of nice.
Yeah, I did notice the same year thing. I guess it goes along with having the same reunion years :)
I love Gary Sinise too, which is why I was so excited by the prospect of CSI:NY. It hasn't lived up to its potential yet, but I think it is trying. I think that's why I can't quite sever ties to it yet.

But, of course, I'm not.

Because I am a 769 year old pirate with 769 cats who has written 769,000 words of fanfic...
And if you believe that, I have some primo real estate under a bridge in Manhattan I'd like to sell you.
