You will be happy to know that even though my mythical being is somewhat on the dark and scary side, my power bird turned out to be the dove of peace. I just need to be sure to keep it away from Cerberus.
We moved out to the country when I was 12. Up until that point, the family home was only a couple hundred yards from the hospital where I (and my younger siblings) made our debut.
In the 38 years since then, the city has grown outwards and this would be just another patch of suburbia if it wasn't for the park. Thank you, Representative John Seiberling! The woods of my youth are still woods, and will remain so for as long as there's a National Park system in the U.S.
We moved about 30 miles into the suburbs when I was four. I ended up back in this general area because I wanted to be near my family, and I moved into the city because I like cities.
If I can find where I've packed it, I will photograph my most excellent lump of glass my brother once found in the desert. It's pale aqua with odd white globs inside of it. The globs look rather like spider nests, which I find fascinating. Some day I may figure out what it was before it became an amorphous lump. Or one of the spider nests will hatch and the invasion will begin!
