I've been meaning to actually start posting here, and now seems as good a time as any, so I'll start with what I'm working on at the moment:
Stargate Atlantis: The Lost is now up for pre-order! No cover yet, and I have no idea what the cover will be, so that'll be interesting to see. The release date is February 16, and I'm kind of absurdly excited.
mescott and I are finishing up Allegiance; we've got a first draft, and need to do some polishing and checking for consistency with The Lost and Avengers. Writing several linked books with different authors very close together (much of Allegiance has been written at the same time as Avengers) means we're having to work hard to avoid continuity problems, like battlecruisers that disappear from the galaxy they're supposed to be in and appear in another galaxy without explanation. (Oops.)
And I've started working on Heart's Desire, an SG-1 tie-in novel set in season 3 and tentatively scheduled for publication in fall of 2011, in which what was supposed to be a nice, easy mission for a team that's been through a lot lately goes badly awry when SG-1 is captured by airship pirates.
Finally, my short story "Caden's Death" will be appearing in the Sword and Sorceress 25 anthology in November, in which a retired soldier turned blacksmith and her would-be apprentice deal with a confrontation that's been put off for a long time. It was a fun story to write, and it's extremely cool to appear in Sword and Sorceress after having read it every year religiously as a teenager.
In other news, this weekend I have learned that there is such a thing as
Ninja battle armor for Zhu Zhu hamsters. (Courtesy of having a small nephew.) The world is indeed a strange and fabulous place.
