He loved Lily. He had always loved Lily, and he hated how trite and cliched that sounded. He still loved her, he always would, and he hated that even more. She meant more to him than he would ever dare admit, even to himself, because he didn't want to look into his heart and find that she was there. Lily, however, had never been his, and he hated that.
It was strange to him to think that the last person he'd see was Lily's son, but he wondered, vaguely, in that moment where death removed all the walls he'd built in his soul and around his heart, whether it was Lily's gift to him, somehow.

Hence it being her gift to him, though I've always thought that "has x's eyes" thing was kinda creepy like they actually literally had that person's eyes. :p
That's true but I don't think we ever got to see a Hogwarts graduation, unless they did one for Fred and George I honestly can't remember and I would have really liked to see what that was about. But yes it was nice to see all three grow up, well Hermione was already pretty grown up but she had to learn to bend every once in a while instead of just standing so ridging in her belief's

Yeah I read that and I agree that it does make Snape seem...I don't know different somehow and I'm not really a big Lily fan, but I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing for him to be a tragic anti-hero kind of character. I think it actually helps make him a more well-rounded character because he had a tendecy to be a little one-sided and all.
I agree that it did seem out of character for Harry at the end. But I think Harry probably would put a lot of stock in Snape showing him the truth, since Dumbeldore possibly lying to him being bad was a big theme of this book. And I think that it was used more as a way to show how much Harry had grown up and changed in the intermintent 19 years.
i'm through the book and i agree with most of the things you said (especially the sideline-character liking and the Snape part, i almost cried rading the prince's tale!) oh and the epilogue, the epilogue, there's something i really don't like in the epilogue and that's the Luna-abscence of it. then again i may be the only one who wanted to know what she'd do 19 years later, so... dunno. I'll miss her.
anyways, hurray fanfiction. rowling has left plenty of room for that. :)
