Lost in Translation: Teaser Trailer

(AKA "Ghost Hunters" for talesinbloom)

Lost in Translation Series: Teaser
Author: Amy
Disclaimer: Never Happened

Main Characters for the Series: Orlando, Elijah, Dominic, Billy (and other guest starts)
Pairing: The prompt (see below) was for Orlijah however the muses wouldn’t cooperate with me so it’s more of a general fic with both Orlando and Elijah being featured heavily. Sorry Tales…

Author’s Note: In the grand tradition of my stories not going the way I originally plan them I bring you the Lost in Translation series. It was originally supposed to be a nice easy Halloween fic that I merged into the Orlijah prompt from my pairing prompt table. talesinbloom gave me the prompt Ghost Hunters. The simple Halloween fic turned into a still fairly simple two parter with a teaser. From there things snowballed and the story in my head got way more complicated and so it’s become a series because I don’t know if I can sustain a long Orlijah fic even if it is a Gen one so this way I can play with it when I have the urge and other wise let it be.
Author's Ntoe #2: Hey look...I finally did something with that picture I posted month ago...

Anyway here’s the teaser…which is probably more fitting for Halloween then the first part which will be posted tomorrow…the first part is a bit…talky but it’s necessary to setting up what’s going on.

The building was old, a grand lady who was starting to show her age but still stood proud and tall. Many men had tried to bring her down with fire and other destructive methods but she had resisted all attempts. Like most old buildings in London she was not as abandoned as she seemed at first glance. She had many occupants. Some were wild creatures seeking safety within her walls but most were simply not visible to the living.

Her numerous ghostly guests gave her a different sort of vibe. There was no real menace to the tone but it was definitely one that made the living uncomfortable and made them think twice about entering her. This was despite the fact that she was a large empty building where it was a well known fact that the caretaker only walked through once a day. But the teenage partiers, the street people and even the idle curious usually passed by her without a second glance.

She didn’t need the numerous Keep Out, Danger, or No Trespassing signs that decorated her. Her whole presence practically screamed Stay Away.

Of course there were always those people who ignored the warnings both written and unwritten. And sometimes those people met with accidents within her walls. But that wasn’t really her concern. If someone ignored her obvious warnings then they must deal with the sometimes tragic consequences of those actions.

She was always more than willing to welcome new permanent guests.
