New fic on the kink meme: The Honeymoon Phase

Nov 19, 2008 13:33

Light and L, split personality, and a superdysfunctional relationship. An idea for the title got hold of me, the prompt set me wondering how to manage it plausibly, and it was a writing frenzy from there. Your call as to whether or not I actually managed. Can be found here.

Warnings: Semi-explicit. As per the prompt, abuse and rape ( Read more... )

WHUT? NO YES? ;--;

I fear if I get too far into commenting, I'd just babble so I'll keep this short.

Lucky OP for getting you to write her prompt. Also, wow. The Honeymoon Phase? My imagination fails me, I can't begin to think of how chapters two and three will unfold. Sadly, I guess we'll have to wait and see. *suppresses a pained groan*

Jumping up and down with excitement over chapter seven of "Lightening Strikes Twice". ♥

Oooh new kink meme stuff, sounds like an interesting concept. I want to read it now but dang work! *shakes fist*

As much as I am salivating for a new "Lightening" chapter, I think we're in the same boat writing wise so i completely understand. I'm still trying to dissect the next Calculated Risks chapter, so let's see how far in the century each one of us posts :D

Ah, hope you like it when you do read it. I've been told it's pretty disturbing.

You're on. :D I also have a weird "Death Note characters in World War II" alternate universe demanding brainspace now, so in the next few months I should never be able to complain that I have nothing to do.

DN characters in WWII? OOh I'm intrigued now and that would work way too well.

I swear overlapping inspiration is a very nice problem to have. Every time I start to work on the next chapter, DN Contest just demands my attention (I think this week's entry will have something to do with Near and karate.) So I feel less like a tool now knowing someone else has the same problem.

So far it's based mainly around the Pacific theatre, and I've had some fun with transplanting canon. So far, for a couple of teasers, L's a polyglot sniper in the British army (he learned to shoot from Mr. Wammy) who's hiding the fact that he's a quarter Japanese - maybe not hiding per se, because nobody thinks to ask. Light, meanwhile, has convinced himself that he's working to save the world from Western imperialism. I'm anticipating lots of time spent in the library for this thing if it ever gets off the ground.

just finished it... omg LOVED IT! :D woah what a twisted bit there :D fantastic job I wish it was longer that's something you could totally make a miniseries out of O_O I mean can L hold on and if he does what would their lives be like? How would he explain Kira to light why they aren't chasing him? Wouldn't Light figure it out? Would L be able to have sex with Light again? Would L be able to deal? :D gah so many questions but wow great story :D :D :D

Well, now I'll know what to look at continuing if I'm ever bored and feeling a bit too upbeat >_> I kid, sort of.

In one of my early half-drafts I had it so four hundred ninety days had already passed and Light stayed split (because even with the Death Note memories gone part of his psyche was still permanently bent into thinking of himself as Kira), but I thought that would be a bit much. Whether or not he would forget, though, I imagine it being a long and complicated slog. L's "everything will be all right" is, as he admits, very much a fantasy.

Thanks for the compliments. :)

HIYA.

Ummmm. ::scuffs toe:: I was wondering -- have you seen this request on the kink meme? And if so, do you have any plans to fill it?
It's just that a plot (or kink meme equivalent) bunny for it has bitten me on the nose and refuses to let go. D= But. I wanted to see if you were working on it, and if not, if you minded, and if not, if you could maybe answer a couple of questions about the original for me so I don't completely fuck up your characterization? DX

UM ANYWAY, thanks for your time ♥

Hi!

I think I've seen that request before, but I currently haven't got plans for a fill (I have enough plans to pile up right now >_>). Meanwhile, the prospect of seeing someone else's take is both flattering and intriguing. I don't mind at all - ask away!

So this is all in my head and a bunch of it's pretty tentative. Do with it as you will and feel free to toss it out on its ear if it conflicts with your 'bunny ( ... )
