I am so happy you had a great time and found some non vocal music that fed your soul.
I had a rain experience what I was maybe 19 years old. I had gotten off work at 11 pm and while waiting for the bus the rain just came pouring out of the sky and no bus shelter. I then got on the bus and got off at the stop near my place and the sky opened up yet again. I was drenched. I went into my place stripped off my wet clothes, put on my swimsuit and grab some shampoo and washed my hair in the front yard. I was giggling with glee.
I did make it to the tree! I couldn't get a photo there because all of the kids having unloaded their stuff around it, but if you managed to find a photo online then you already know it's really not worth the effort at all. But somehow that made it great! Taiwan has quite a lot of underwhelmingly pointless destinations like that one, it appeals to my sense of humor, although i'm not sure if it's intended as tongue-in-cheek as it comes across to me. Reminds me a bit of Australia's "big things" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_things_(Australia)).
That tree would fit perfectly into New Brunswick, which practically markets itself as “we’re not very interesting, but we’re nice”. I had no idea Australia also did the big things. It seems like almost every smaller town in Canada has one, and they are definitely kind of goofy but also charming.
