I've never had a desire to go to Greece and now am validated.

I think it's still worth visiting, if you have the chance. A lot of the less great things about Greece are the same in pretty much every other country of the world too. That's what i find most interesting about traveling, just how many things are actually the same, despite the "unique" traits nationalists like to trumpet, especially once you step outside of the tourist centers.

Totally unrelated comment, but reading about Corinth reminded me of a time when I got really confused with geography LOL.

I had understood (from some show on TV) that Corinthia is a place in Greece. And then I went to visit Dad’s Austrian family and Dad was sort of half-translating stuff for us non-German speakers.

I learned that my Dad’s family don’t really like to travel outside of Austria, but then they also make very frequent trips to “Corinthia”.

I remember getting really confused, “how can you not like to travel outside of Austria but love going to Corinthia whenever you have any kind of free time?”

Turns out they were talking about “Carinthia”, a region in Austria.

That's hilarious! I have to admit, i also have been pretty confused by some of the place names, even on this very trip! Reading about Thebes and i'm like, isn't that in Egypt? And... Tripoli?!
