I applaud your quitting smoking and (reducing) drinking. I see the end products of a life spent on those vices, and it sucks. I was just telling my partner today that you see these people treating their bodies like this, and instead of dying quickly, they live 20-30 years in complete misery and then die. CHF, liver failure, lung cancer, etc. Not a fun way to go.
Thanks! Although i've been here several times before in my life and fallen back again, so who knows where it'll go next. Previously i've quit because it became very clear that i was drinking to escape something else rather than because i just enjoyed it for its own sake... and that's this time too. When you're drinking to escape something else that sucks, then you've just let that thing win.
