I haven't seen many of these floating around, so took this one from olamina.

1. What did you do in 2022 that you'd never done before?

Visited Colombia. Cat-sat.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't make resolutions, but in 2023 i'd really like to do less binge drinking. It is making me fat.

3. Did ( Read more... )

A co-worker said that Star Trek: Prodigy was GREAT and that it was worth renting the Paramount + streaming service to see it. I just wait for things to come out on DVD, then I own it if I like it or give it away to someone if I don't. Just started Picard Season 2, and finished Discovery Season 4.
By the end of Discovery my partner and I were wondering why dudes who don't understand how communication works were allowed to write TV scripts. I think this is the big problem.... like dramas relying on lies to create drama.

Personally i love Prodigy, it's my favorite of all the new Treks aside from Picard. Mainly because it's one of the new Treks that's ACTUALLY new Trek, and not just a prequel or a nostalgic rehash for nerds who can't let go of the universe they grew up on. Which isn't to say that there aren't references to older shows - heck, one of the main characters is Janeway from Voyager - but unlike Lower Decks (the other animated new Trek) it doesn't depend entirely on the viewer being the kind of nerd who gets off on a machine-gun barrage of in-jokes. It's just a good, old-fashioned, young adult "kids escape from an oppressive situation and learn to succeed in the adult world by realizing they were heroes all along" story. Which is a timeless story that appeals to anyone who was ever a kid. Except it's in Star Trek world. It's great ( ... )

I enjoyed Lower Decks way more than I enjoyed Rick & Morty, that's for sure.

I just spend so much time hating Hollywood when I watch *most things* and wondering how even some of the best shows on still get away with lame behaviors like acting like women never age past 50 (which is dressed up like it's quite old), when in doubt hire some bland white people to fill any story holes or if nothing important is happening have the camera stare at a petite blonde woman.

Since you're the third person to report back that you love Prodigy, I will bump it up the top of my list!
