Today was a tough day. The smoke was very, very thick. I packed up early and was out of there a bit after 9am. Going down the hill from Turtle Valley was a rush, it was a sealed road and i just zoomed down after breakfast. Then i made a wrong turn and ended up on the Trans Canada Highway

The good news is that despite the smoke there were still kids paddling and playing in the water. Even down here in Enderby with the apocalyptic orange skies there were people tubing down the river. It's reassuring, i think, that kids will find an adventure to have, no matter what's going on around them.

There is nothing that tastes better than a meal of fresh vegetables after a long ass day working your butt off.... you're exhausted, you're thirsty, you're at the very bottom of your stomach... you're weak... and something like an orange or a salad is like BOING!!! It's EVERYTHING your body wanted. It is SO friggin' satisfying!
I am loving your updates... and I'm sorry the suburbs are trying to ruin even the most rural places SOMEHOW. Colonial ideas about ownership and straight lines and BLASTING THROUGH... are still fucking up many people's daily lives... up to and including the idea to traverse a hill... means going straight the fuck up it, and not really caring because the IDEA of cars is too ubiquitous.
