Since i got back to China i have been wearing all black in solidarity with the Hong Kong protesters the day after each protest. It doesn't count for much, just some laowai on the other side of the bay wearing black on a hot summer's day, but it's my little way of reminding myself that i don't want to get sucked into a bubble where i forget i am ( Read more... )

Can you get into Twitter again? Some interesting threads following the British HK police officers involved in this. Hard to miss them even with their gas masks on.

Fortunately the VPN situation has improved since the blackouts around June 4, so i can find out what's going on outside the bubble again. Do you have any specific recommendations? I know absolutely nothing about how to twit.

That was exactly my point. In both cases, one side consists of political protesters who occasionally damage property while the other side consists of authoritarians and bootlickers who harrass, attack, imprison and kill human beings. There is no moral equivalence. It's disgusting that these conservative politicians pretend there is.
