I kind of wish I could follow a knitting pattern to make this for my brother! Great job!

This project was a huge learning experience. The pattern was well written and the hat itself is pretty much cast on so many stitches, rib and then it goes right into the stranding. The graph was a little bit tricky to follow but I caught on pretty quickly. I love this hat. I'll be making this again.

Awwww, that's too cute! You did a good job on it.

I think a smaller pom would look cute on it personally. ^__^

Thank you so much. It was a fun pattern.

I was thinking the same until I finished it this evening. It's a slouch style hat so I'm kind of thinking about going with a medium sized pom-pon. Maybe. I still have a bit of this yarn left so I'm going to experiment. Thank you for the advice!

Thank you. When it comes to a bunch of sticks and some wool I have a all the patience in the world. When it comes to some people... not so much.

I had fun making it. I'll be knitting one for myself pretty soon.

You are ridiculous. Awesome, but ridiculous. XD I can't believe you're going to give it as a gift. <3 But I understand. Especially if you enjoyed making it. Will you be using the same colors for the next one? Will you be taking a picture of it on yourself or someone? I'd love to see how it actually looks on someone. ^_^

Yeah, I know. Brian said the same thing. The person who is getting it is my sister (I know she won't see this response and she's getting it tomorrow anyway). Cait is moving to Colorado this thursday. I thought that a gnome hat was the perfect gift for someone traveling for a long length of time. I don't even know if she'll even like it but we'll see.

I'm not sure if I'll go with the same colors or not. I actually made it because I really like this color combo for myself but I kind of want to see what it would look like in other colors. Maybe even try multiple colors for various parts of the the gnome (like red for the hat brown for the boots, ect...) I'm going to get Brian to photograph it me wearing it tomorrow I think. Though, I hate seeing and posting photos of myself:P We'll see.
