The only spelling change you need is "Suzie" instead of "Susie," but god knows I've screwed that one up enough times. I'd recommend cross-posting to the various Torchwood fic comms, especally jack_owen and torchwood_decaf.

I am a big fan of Rent, and I assume you are thinking of the bit in Tango Maureen when Mark says, "This is hard" and Joanne says, "You should try it in heels!"
The line in the story is actually a reference to a famous quote about Ginger Rogers, who danced with Fred Astaire. 'Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.' I found a reference to Texas(?) Gov. Ann Richards saying it at the 1988 Democratic Convention in 2 articles, so I'm accepting that as the origin of the quote.
