This is a favorite story of mine and now I can listen to it too! I haven't commented before, but I am trying to overcome what I call shyness and my kids call lame. I listen to everything you read. Perfect every time. I think I have at least 4 stories you have read permanantly on my player. You have a great singing voice too. Thank you so much for taking the time to do these. Amazing job.
It's difficult to take the time and find the words to comment on podfic, I know. Even for a promiscuous commenter like me, it can be hard to think of something new to say beyond "nice job" or "enjoyed this", but as an author of fanfiction as well as a reader, believe me, every comment, even something that generic is greatly appreciated. So good for you--for emerging from the shadows of lurkerdom!
Thank you so much for your kind words, especially about the singing. That's always a risk, lol. Happy future listening!
So, I just finished listening to this amazing podfic, earlier this afternoon. I'd been listening to it, on and off, over the last four or five days, and to finally reach the end of this - well, Jared's 'happy dance' is probably equivalent to the expression on my face when I finally reached the end of your recording.
I've gotta say, you're always consistent in producing awesome stuff, but this? Pretty much blew me away. The little 'ding' when Chris and Autumn are IM-ing, and the overlaid music when the boys were playing at the charity dinner, and the hotness of Jared and Jensen finally getting it on, and all your singing - seriously, if reading porn aloud is nerve-wracking, I can only imagine that singing on a podfic must be even more so! You did a truly beautiful job with this.
Personal aside: I've associated the song "Walk The Line" with Stargate: Atlantis, ever since I saw John Sheppard's Johnny Cash poster in season one. I think you might have managed to change my fic-song affiliations, with this podfic!
This comment blows me away, for sure! Especially coming from a veteran podficcer like yourself, it means so much. Thank you for going into so much detail about what worked--as I'm sure you know, feedback like that is so helpful.
I think singing on a podfic is risky, even if it sometimes seems like the only way to get the point across, so I'm super thrilled that you thought that worked. And you wouldn't believe how hard it was to find a sound effect that worked for that IM ping, so thanks for mentioning that.
So in conclusion: thank you, thank you, thank you! *happy dance*
As usual, I absolutely loved your audiofic, you did an amazing job, I am in awe of your talent, you always make every story even more enjoyable! Thank you for recording and sharing this podfic!
Ah, thank you so much! My work on this story brought a couple of very special fandom friends into my life, so it's near and dear to my heart. I'm so glad you like it too!
