Usually I'm a Thorin/Bilbo shipper and avoid most of the other pairings. I tried a couple of times but didn't like most of the stories. So when I saw your entry I was sceptical. Sceptical but at the same time immense curious. Because if someone makes the effort to podfic a story it has to be one he or she has fallen in love with. And that usually means it's a good one. Plus Dwalin is a really interesting character. We know so little about him outside of his role as warrior and protector.

To make a long story short: I absolutely loved the story. I t made my heart ache in all the right places and the ending was very fitting.

So thanks for making me aware of the story and thanks for a wonderul podfic. I enjoyed listening to it. It's always interesting to hear other interpretations. I liked yours and will surely listen to it some time again.

P.S.: Great cover! That's what caught my eye first:)

Thank you very much! It delights me when a podfic gives a story I've enjoyed more exposure. A lot of work goes into making them, and you're completely right - I have to really love a story to make that kind of effort.

Thorin/Bilbo is definitely my go-to in this fandom, too, and it's so flattering that you extended that bit of trust and clicked into this oddly paired story. And I'm all kinds of pleased that the art caught your eye (that woodgrain, I swear, took *forever*).

Thank you so kindly for taking the time to leave feedback. It means a lot to me. :)

I love the cover art. It brings back to me the original covers which have always seemed like the "true" ones since they were the ones I first knew.
