As an aside- I'm rereading Terry Pratchett's "Equal Rites" and your journal title 'Escapology' makes me think of 'Headology' every time I see it. Well done.

I want to see A Christmas Carol, sadly because of the reason you listed. *whistles innocently* Peter Jackson did brilliantly on LotR, you have to admit. But I've never seen or read Inkheart so I cannot pass judgement other than to add two words to reinforce your post's point: Harry Potter. Enough said.

I'm sorry if it didn't really come off the post, (probably should have italicized it and added some emoticon) but Mark Strickson is DEFINITELY a factor into why I like A Christmas Carol so much. I mean, I saw it in seventh grade and it was good, but I watched again after I fell in love with Turlough and it was hilarious! I liked him a lot as Scrooge, although long ginger wig = bad.
Jackson did do a good job and LOTR, that's why I can forgive some plot mangling, usually something that really urks me in other movies.
To be fair, I didn't think the first Harry Potter was that bad. It was good, childish fun, but the new ones I have no words to describe.
Hail the return of the ?Turlough icon! I haven't seen you use it in a while and I love it!
Once I got past the wig I still quite liked him in it. Except afterward I wanted to run through my school screaming: AHAHAH! YOU IGNORANT FOOLS! YOU HAVE SEEN THE AMAZING TURLOUGH WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING IT!

The first two were okay, that director wanted to keep it light and fresh. But with the third it definitely went dark and sinister and bleh.
