Sherlock and I Are Not Informed Consumers

During my trip to Spain all the more typical (straight) girls were obsessing over something called Stradivarius. The boys and I were slightly baffled. Wasn't this a type of violin? Specificially one Sherlock Holmes possessed (I bought a copy of a Study in Scarlet in spanish!) So why are these teenage girls who've never read SH or play the violin

That's the point I was trying to get across. I thought the same thing, following by crushing dissapointment. At least one of the boys was in the same boat as me and he taught me everything I'll ever need to know about violins. Not that I can remember any.
