Today is a slog. The friend of mine from work passed away this morning, and I think I'm still numb. Sometimes I'm glad that my reaction to grief, etc is often a slow slide, and a dissociation.

Sometimes it seems bad though too. But what do you say, what do you do except keep walking forward.

When someone dies, lift a beer (or your favorite happiness-toy of choice), give them a toast, and remember all the good times or good things about that person.

Then lift another one to the fact that we're all going to die, but for now we're alive and there is a whole lot of universe out there to be explored.

A bit of grief over the fact that the person isn't going to be in your life anymore is good. Other than that, they are either in their paradise of choice or beyond caring. Until its your time to head that way, its back to getting around to the business of enjoying life.
