The concept sketch for this one was sitting in my WIP bin for four months. I almost deleted it. I'm kinda glad I didn't it. I used fanartivation 's art war to help me get this piece done.

Um, wow. This is brilliant! I love the idea behind it and I love the magic ball (which, yes, so fucking tricky to get just right). I love the blue glow from the ball falling across Merlin's face (which, even with the beard and all, still looks like Merlin) and his eyes that are still gold. Particular love for the necklace and the beads in his hair. I don't know why that is so sexy to me but Unf. Really brilliant work &hearts

Thanks so much! I had a bit of fun designing up the beads, strings, and toothy trinkets that he's got. Gives him a bit of a druidic Emrys feel, and a bit more world-wise. He's seen stuff. I wanna know the story behind the scar, lol!

Oh, wow! I love the lighting! The ball of magic came out great! And for whatever reason, I love how the scar through his eyebrow onto his cheek ages him.
