OMG, no, I seriously am cheating here, ahaha. I started this a couple of days ago, but finished this morning.

Oh, no. I'm actually cheating a bit, seeing as I started it a couple of days ago, but only finished this morning. :) So no need to be impressed!

Damn, impressive start to the new year! How was that by the way? I've only ever read his short stories

I'm going to keep a list like this for movies this year but I'm considering doing one for books too. I don't read nearly as much as I used too though, it might be a bit embarrassing in the end D: Any good recommendations? I think we have similar taste when it comes to YA books in particular

Haha, I feel bad about listing this here, as people are assuming I have reading speeds nearing the speed of light, but I actually started this on the 30th, but finished this morning. Hence, cheating, but it does ring in a nice tone to start off 2009 with a Fantastic Voyage. :)

Asimov is SO GOOD. I highly suggest Foundation. It's brilliant.

Ok, here are some suggestions I think you'd like:

Something Rotten by Alan M. Gratz
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon (not YA, but still pretty awesome)
Summerland by Michael Chabon
Abarat series by Clive Barker
Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathon Stroud (read these first, they're awesome)
Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer
Bobby Pendragon series by DJ MacHale

You must tell me if you end up reading them; I'd love to hear your opinion. :)

Naw it counts, haha I was going to do the same thing actually since I started Stephen King's The Eyes of the Dragon a few days ago but technically didn't finish until 2am this morning. I don't know if you're into his books at all but it's a fantasy tale he wrote for his daughter who actually didn't like his usual horror. Not my favorite King or my favorite fantasy but a pretty good read.

Oh sweet list! I actually read the first Artemis Fowl years ago and have The Arctic Incident but never got around to it. There's a whole bunch of books that I bought at some point or another but never read (the first in the Bartimaeus trilogy among them) so I'm trying to make some headway on those now. I'll definitely check out those other ones too, a bunch of people in this comic art class I took recommended Kavalier and Clay so I want to get that one.
