Because like the rest of the internet, Star Trek has eaten my brain

May 11, 2009 20:14

Took meggiekw and illama out to see Star Trek Saturday night.

They are not Trek fans.  They're not even Sci Fi fans (though after many years of friendship with me they can now name several Stargate SG-1 characters).  I made Meg read a Star Trek novel once (back in high school--Imzadi--and she's seen maybe one episode of TNG--by force on a Girl Scout trip).  ( Read more... )

TOS on hulu is exciting, but I'm concerned with the fact that they're putting episodes of Biography up on there. The Alec Baldwin commercial is right; they're just a bunch of aliens wanting to eat our brains. And I'm gladly serving them mine.

I haven't seen some of these episodes in YEARS! I'm psyched to get to watch the bad acting and silly special effects ;)

YES. If Alec Baldwin is an alien, I proudly serve him up my brain. Nom nom nom...

So glad to know I wasn't the only one shuffling that off. I figured, hey, it's like a romance novel on Star Trek--that's totally the crossover book! LOL

I <3 Imzadi. Its one of THE best Star Trek books.

I totally ship Riker/Troi.

And I'm on viewing number 2. What the heck is that creature with Scotty? It cracks me up.

HELL YES. I read that thing until it fell apart!

I don't think there's anyone who watched Next Gen who didn't ship Riker/Troi. I mean...really! :D

Me too! I wanna watch it again!! Yeah, it's a creepy little thing...I was concerned when I read about Scotty's midget sidekick, but this makes much more sense :) It's Deep Roy...the same dude who was the Oompa Loompas in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.

I know! Its one of my classic OTP from childhood. And Imzadi is just one of those books you pick up every so often and reread. I have it in the combine format for book 1 and 2-more easy to store.

He almost reminded me of a Ewok who might be living on Tatooine (has the hard shell to protect him from sandblasting, and besides who wears fur in a desert?).

Hells yes. I didn't like Imzadi II nearly as well, but I'll read pretty much anything Peter David writes ;)

LOL, an Ewok on Tatooine may be the best idea ever :) He's SO FASHIONABLE IN HIS FUR, YO! ;)

I'm buying the movie novelization tomorrow, cuz I'm just a tad obsessed :)

Apparently the cast signed on for two sequels, so we can expect at least another movie I suppose.

Are they going to fix the timeline? TIMELINE! We need continuity fixing...

I'm okay, I'm breathing.

NO Continuity fixing!!! Let go, the old Trek!
Wrath of Khan with out Savik?
The Undiscovered Country with out Valaris?
Voyager with out Tuvok?

How much more could the Universe be affected?!

Novelization out TODAY!! I'm picking it up on my way out of work... and reading it tonight!
