Gorgeous black and white cinematography by Gordon Willis, a beautiful Gershwin soundtrack, and the debut of a young, breathtaking new actress, Mariel Hemingway, make this one of Woody Allen's best films.

A wonderful film. I grew to love it when I had to write a paper analyzation of it last year, and watched it over and over again. I enjoyed it more and more each time, because it really allowed me to appreciate the genius of woody allen.

This is a wonderful, great film. . .

It definitely fits in my top 3 Woody Allen films, but the one that I am wondering about that no one seems to have mentioned is Crimes and Misdemeanors. To me that is his masterpiece and it digs into life deeper than almost any other film than I have ever seen. . . The film does it. The film actually summarizes the meaning of life perfectly.

My other Woody Allen fave besides these two is Annie Hall. What made Annie Hall even more freaky for me was the realization one day that my first longtime girlfriend/fiancee was Annie Hall. . .

After Annie Hall, this is my favorite Woody Allen movie.

Now if he could only stop making stuff like Anything Else, Curse of the Jade Scorpion, and Hollywood Ending and start making movies like this again...

Call me crazy but I think Anything Else was something of a return to form for Woody. Compared to the dreck of the past 5 years or so, it wasn't so bad.

I agree, but I could see throughout the film, random remnants of other things he's written but with himself as Jason Biggs character .
