Trivia : This film became notorious for its many production problems and cost overruns. Making matters worse was the change in regimes at Columbia Pictures. The new regime, not wanting any production from the old regime to "shine", simply buried the film during its U.S. release. There were many markets, especially the smaller ones, in the U.S.

I know this film is more famous for being a flop than anything else, but when I saw it when it came out in VHS, not knowing anything about it, I fell in love with it! Beautiful, imaginative, and wonderfully performed by John Neville, I still think it's one of Gilliam's best, and one of the funnest fantasy films I've seen. It stays light and creative the whole way through, and I find it very easy to watch.
