Trivia : This film became notorious for its many production problems and cost overruns. Making matters worse was the change in regimes at Columbia Pictures. I know this film is more famous for being a flop than anything else, but when I saw it when it came out in VHS, not knowing anything about it, I fell in love with it! Beautiful, imaginative, and wonderfully performed by John Neville, I still think it's one of Gilliam's best, and one of the funnest fantasy films I've seen. It stays light and creative the whole way through, and I find it very easy to watch.
