I'm flattered by this reaction and also: you're totally excused, since that's my reaction to all J/B things that remain (generally) in canon.

Aw, thanks very much! I think a lot of what I like about his character is how thoroughly and unashamedly he wears his heart on his sleeve, despite being hurt/anticipating more hurt -- that's where he comes from, for me. I dislike most things about Breaking Dawn in general so I agree there -- but I feel like Meyer almost had an "oops" moment when she made Jacob this extremely sunny, awesome guy in New Moon and then had to have her protagonist choose the guy who had ditched her. Thus a LOT of character revising.

I didn't plan to write more of this but then again short drabble stuff doesn't take a lot of time and the comments are so kind...
(Also I seem to not be writing anything I should be, so I might as well write something!)
