I feel I should now make watching this episode more of a priority. I've just discovered Star Trek fandom and it's just about my favorite thing ever right now. Also, I never considered parallels between Garak and Crowley, but they're totally there. Both of them will show up, be a magnificent bastard, and then stand there smirking and/or snarking the good guys out and stealing the scene. Not sure if I can provide the emotional release porn you were looking for (though the scenario does sound wonderful!), but I have some recs here if you're interested.

.... oh god, your icon is channeling Calvin and Hobbes. *dies*

SEE, I CAN SEE THAT AND IT WORKS A LOT BETTER BUT SAM DOESN'T WATCH STAR TREK. SO HE GETS TO MOPE ABOUT HOW LIFE SHOULD BE LESS FAILTASTIC, AND THEN HE MEETS A DJINN AND CRACKFIC ENSUES.

... and I'm just really attached to the image of Bobby moping with some booze, some ice cream, and some DS9, going, "goddammit this show is my life. But in SPACE. >:{"
