When I left home, it was also against my parents' will. An interesting note, though, is that, in their eyes, it was going directly against the will of the Lord! (i.e. leaving the Mormon faith and marrying one who is not Mormon) Ah, what an interesting journey this has been...
I am going to Victoria. Most of the rest of my fam is there and my Mom is only feeling that she will miss me because she is getting older, enjoys my company, and has recently been ill and it made her feel a little insecure I think. However, she is super happy that I have a good opportunity there. Also, most parents, Mormon or not, older or not, still fear for their children even under the best circumstances. It's just something we don't seem to be able to "let go and Let God" very well.
I still don't know (outside of the first three weeks) exactly where I will be living though and so that part of the journey definately remains an adventure.
