Very interesting and higly enjoyable read.
Kind of sad it's only a one-shot, because there's sooooo much potential for more.^^

Thank you! I'm happy you liked it.
Yeah, I know I could have written a lot more... but I was really just interested in the process of getting wings. :)

Wow, this was not at all what I was expecting when I saw "Devil Wears Prada" fic, but the story was really cool anyhow. It's been ages since I've seen this movie, but I think your characterizations of Andy and Miranda both feel pretty dead-on. You have a very quick-paced narrative style, and the twins are so adorable as well!

*lol* I'm glad I could surprise you. Hm, if you wanted to explore DWP fics further I think you'd find many that are more like something you'd expect (I guess) but also very many that are AU or just take the characters in a whole different direction that what's suggested by the movie. That's why I like the fandom; for the variation. As for the movie itself, I disliked it in the beginning ("Come on, this is crazy! Why do people say they like this?!"), then began to appreciate it because I watched with with the eyes of a femslash writer (even if I didn't realize I did it at the time). I really began to dislike Andy's friends in the movie and the ending shocked me because I was seriously waiting for Andy to leave her boyfriend, not Miranda! Which is why I turned to fanfic to "make it right" :)

You have a very quick-paced narrative styleYes, sometimes I have when writing fanfic. It's interesting that you point that out because although that's sometimes a bad thing, sometimes it is not and it's even something my original fiction would ( ... )

It's been a couple of years since I've last watched the movie, but I do recall not being particularly compelled by her friends/boyfriend either. I think I was mostly just dazzled by all the fashion, ha ha. (That, and Meryl Streep's obvious BAMF-ness...)

I like quick-paced narratives, personally. I suppose it depends on the type of story you want to tell?

Yes, it depends on the story. And sometimes it's so obvious that wether the style is the right one or not is not really a question of right or wrong, but it depends on the reader's taste. Recently, some people read an excerpt of my novel, and one of them said: "It tends to be too slow very often; you need more action and less details!" The other one said: "Nooo, I love all the details and I wouldn't mind more; please don't make the story more quick-paced!" *lol* I love it when my beta-readers disagree.

*lol* Sorry!! I knew somebody was going to say that... but really, I was only just interested in the part that I wrote: If Andy got wings, how would she feel about it?... It is true that this can have many consequences for her work, her social life, and her whole way of looking at the world around her; reality as she knows it is changing and obviously someone in her family has a secret and there are many new things she has to learn... And it would be a way of bonding with the twins, get closer to Miranda because of that, begin to see her in a different light, Andy would take her flying in the romantic moonlight, etc, they'd fall in love..... But, I decided to leave all that to the readers' imagination!
