A very sweet and satisfying story :) I feel a little bad for the Haitian, though, always being called in to play the heavy for other people! At least he is gracious about it.

You have really mastered this straightforward, moral-driven fairy-tale-ish style. It's unusual in fanfiction but I like it a lot!

(If the true story behind this has you in the role of Claire then major kudos to you for sticking up for your brother!)

No, the true story has my grandmother in the role of Claire; someone stole something from her when she was young and she went to take it back, with a male friend waiting out in the dark. It surprised me when I heard the story recently, and I wanted to use it.

It's a great story! And I meant 'unusual' as in 'uncommon' not 'weird' - fanfic writers tend to go the overly flowery, descriptive route in stead of plot-driven storytelling. <3 Can't wait to read more of your writing!
