Notes: So this was not how I imagined a possible DWP/Heroes crossover to begin! But, the prompt made me do it late last night… Can’t promise that there will be more of this. (I’d still be happy to see someone else give this crossover a try!)
“Andrea, I need to know where you loyalties are.”
“What do you mean?” Andy’s eyelids flutter under Miranda’s penetrating gaze; what has she done? “Of course I’m loyal to you…”
“Really, Andrea Petrelli?”
Ice-crystals in Miranda’s voice.
“Oh, don’t look so surprised - as if I’d never find out!”
What? Andy gulps. So, now Miranda knows that Sachs isn’t her real name, but…
“But I just didn’t want you to hire me because of who I am. Being a Petrelli can open so many doors, and…”
“Nonsense!” Miranda snaps; she hasn’t talked to Andy like this in months. “Do you expect me to believe that?”
Andy blinks.
“Um… Yes. It’s the truth.”
Silence. Andy is getting hotter - not in a good way - under Miranda’s stare, and can’t help that she’s fidgeting.
“So what’s this I hear about blowing up New York?” Miranda says. “I can’t let that happen, can I?”
“What?”
Andy’s voice is a whisper. Is it some kind of test? Or is Miranda insane?
“I know your mother.”
Miranda’s voice is loaded with unspoken words; Andy wonders what Angela has done to deserve all this anger.
“But it’s true that I also know you… Andrea, will you go against Angela’s will to help me save what I believe in?”
Andy doesn’t understand. She loves her mom. But she also knows that she could put her life in Miranda’s hands, and if she could do anything to help her, she would.
So Andy says yes, and that’s all. For now.
