Then I'll keep watching Gokusen. I was just thinking that maybe a show like that can't go on being fun forever. And yay for manga! ;) Am I right in thinking that it's more common for manga/anime to be more "daring" and break taboos (if a teacher and an ex student can be called that, but according to some people...) and so on? Or perhaps I haven't seen enough yet to know what I'm talking about.
Something that I have noticed in dramas as well as in anime is that very often, everything is the mother's fault. I mean that the main character is often traumatized by something in his childhood related to the mother, abandonment or death. Or just an emotionally distant or cold mother. I don't know, it's not like this is not a thing in western stories as well, but I feel like I've seen it too often for it to be a coincident, given that I've watched relatively few dramas/animes...
Yes, but I didn't even mention my favourite out of all that I've watched recently - Orange Days! It's a really lovely story about friendship, love and music. The main character is a guy who, during the last year of college, falls in love with a violin player who lost her hearing four years ago. Looking forward to your post! :)
