HELP! Computer odd issues

Has anyone heard of this problem??

My sound card refuses to send sound to my speakers. I've run a diagnostic sweep and the card claims that it is working properly, I've checked the card and it's seated properly.

Any ideas?

Umm as silly as this sounds...make sure the speakers are plugged into the right outlet...literally check every one, rarely they are marked incorrectly (or if you have an older one not at all :P). Otherwise try updating the driver.

Also:

Jack blew
Speakers blew

Never had this particular issue myself so I am just going on guesswork.

If at all possible, I'd see if you can install it into someone else's machine or another machine you have if you happen to have a spare. Tech bench rule #1: if you're not sure what's broke, isolate it. If you haven't tried it in another slot, give that a shot. perhaps it's a bad card slot. You may also want to try blowing any dust off of it. In some cases even a small piece of dust can cause a short that will prevent a device from working (and often miraculously report a functioning card). I hate to say it but if I had to put money on it I'd say I agree that it's probably something fried on the card.
