Hi all,

I've only just started watching the first season of Numb3rs and got an immediate bad feeling about Amita. Going from what I've read about season two and three, this feeling isn't unjustified.
Ofcourse this leaves me doubting if I should actually continue watching beyond season one?

I don't know if any of you ever watched The Sentinel years ago

Well, I would definitely go into season two, since there are some very good moments for the Eppes family in it, but episodes to prepare for are Bettor or Worse, Harvest, and Undercurrents. Amita has her little moments every episode or two but those three are the worst because they deal directly with Charlie and Amita becoming an item.

However, season three is nothing but-- they hook up in the first episode and from then on its been an exercise in Charmita. If Charlie is your favorite character and you decide to watch season three, I suggest finding an alternative means of entertainment (like Larry and Megan's relationship, or Don's state of near-breakdown) because Charlie and Amita become appendages of each other. You pretty much won't see him without her, and for the fraction of the time that you do, she comes up somehow.

As for anti-Amita fanfic, I only wrote an alternate ending to the second season. misslindalee is writing a whole series featuring her original characters (one of whom becomes Charlie's girlfriend as opposed to Amita.) I'm not

Thanks for the plug, Tess, but you forgot to mention "Convergence" as well. :) Darknyss, welcome, and please do watch at least Season 2, but as Tess said: Season 3 is something that bears fastforwarding through Charmita - I personally watch for Megan and Larry and Don. *grins*

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll just put my fingers in my ears and sing loudly when I watch season three. It's a good thing I like Don, Megan and Larry.

I personally adore Charlie, and just pretend Amita is somebody (anybody) else. You can always rewrite the dialogue in your head

I just saw Assassin and I wanted to reach through the screen and throttle her for standing Charlie up like that.
I mean, she knew he was planning to take her to the concert. The fact that he didn't physically have the tickets in hand doesn't matter. A date was set and she totally, unexpectedly blew him off. What a B*tch.

The other eps you mentioned do not sound promising at all.

I like Charlie a lot and the fact that he lets himself get jerked around by someone like that saddens me.

Exactly. EXACTLY!

It never ceases to confuse and infuriate me that A) the writers contest that this is appropriate behavior for either a woman, a professional, or a love interest to the MC, and continue to write it; B) Charlie is written as so pathetically hung up on her that he's completely lost his spirit and his originality; and C) the audience can stomach it

There is a fic on FFN (Declaration of Independence) which promises to be anti-Amita. But she hasn't shown up in it yet.

I never cared about her one way or another. I just can't stand that they have promoted her so much. I love Charlie and even though I know that the two of them were written to be together, but when they actually got together, it really made me crazy.

And now that they have made her a professor and are presenting her a genius equal to Charlie it infuriates me. I really wish she just was left in the background or started going out with someone else. If he had a crush on her, and she was unavailable, I could handle that, but now that she is his lover, partner, collegue, friend I can't stand her and am losing my interest in Charlie.

THis makes me mad because he was my favorite character in a long time and the fact that they are joined at the hip has ruined the show for me.
