FAQ

Q. WHY?
A. I am tired and my bed is warm and snuggly and I slept like crap. Mostly? I'm a self serving challenge organizer. Or to quote someone else:

"Why? The better question is why not? Would the world not be a better place with more fic about napping?? Curled up together under warm blankets, a tangle of limbs, sleepy cuddling, who does not ( Read more... )

John wakes up to an impatient hand pulling on his elbow, strongly enough to bring him half-upright before he's even aware he'd fallen asleep. Pushing his elbow more firmly into the lab table, he blinks himself awake, taking in Rodney's frowning face, wet hair flattened against his head, still in the soaked BDUs that are making them both shiver ( ... )

"Colonel," Rodney breathes, the way people do when they say something you don't want to hear, but a hand curves around the back of his neck, almost hot against his skin, holding him in place. "This is what all those afterschool specials tried to get across. You're crashing ( ... )

John feels himself sway, but the sharp edge in Rodney's voice reminds him to keep upright, and Rodney's back, wiping something warm across his face that he leans into with a groan that reaches his toes. When Rodney pulls it away, all he can smell is soap. A quick and dirty drag over his neck, over his hands, and he wonders why Rodney's bothering, but then--God, yes--Rodney's moving him toward the bed ( ... )

"Cold," John says, unable to find another word that fits. He fumbles for Rodney's free hand, pulling, and Rodney levers himself up, staring at him with wide, uncomprehending eyes ( ... )

"No." It was John's first word, his parents once told him. He's inclined to believe they were right.

*chokes* Okay, mental image of little John going around, yelling no, perhaps randomly, and very often is rather precious.

As for the rest: *melty*

OMG, is it ever... With the wee spiky rebellious hair and his diaper falling off his non-bum and wearing a little khaki onesie! Clutching a P90 watergun! Threatening his mom with it at naptime!

*dies*

This is like a hug dipped in hot chocolate and wrapped in cashmere. I have so. much. love. for Rodney taking care of John. It's like...my favorite thing ever. Also huddling! I'm a big fan of huddling for warmth. And I think what made it this for me was the bits of Rodney's one-sided radio conversation that made no sense to John but were unbelievably sweet and protective even if John couldn't recognize it. *hugs story ( ... )

You know, it is like 120 outside at the moment and snuggling is about the last thing I want to do ever. Let alone breathe. However, I am also so very tired and running on little sleep and this made me want to snuggle up close to both Rodney and John, to get warm. Considering how close I am to dying of heatstroke, that is one hell of an effort. So yay, gorgeous and wonderful and just that beautifully bit of angst. Mmm, angst on toast in the morning.

(Also fucking lj won't let me post this! So I am trying it on someone else's comment)
