New computer!

I finally got my new computer at work. Most importantly, it has new versions of all the software we use so I won't need to worry about Illustrator crashing half a dozen times a day. (I can't get it to print anything that's off the artboard though. Probably a "feature." How lame). Also, it's faster than shit. And has an assload of memory. Yeah, we ( Read more... )

Hooray for new computers! Mine is a three-gig CPU with one gig DDR SDRAM.

they need to get you a nice 21" LCD now.

They offered me a widescreen (probably 20", but maybe 23"), but I told them I'd rather stick with my 22" LaCie CRT. Flat screens are too bright, and especially the ones Apple sells give a way too high quality image for web work. You can't design for people who have a shitty old 14" CRT when you're using a top-of-the-line 20" widescreen.

Really, the dual 2GHz are nice, but really, I think the 2.5 GB of super fast RAM on a screaming bus makes all the difference.
