So...here is the lowdown on October 29th on FOX, which might break me from Bones once and for all:

Crossover Plans )

we can take you flying, crossovers, bones, idiotic ideas

The BONES/SLEEPY HOLLOW crossover is like a great episode of THE X-FILES, where the BONES hour is the Scully, logic-based perspective and the SLEEPY HOLLOW hour is more Fox Mulder-esqueI actually laughed out loud when I read this. The idea of ANY Bones episode these days bearing any resemblance whatsoever to a "great" episode of XF is absurd ( ... )

And while I wouldn't object to a Bones-like show including those elements...that is not the show Bones has been for 10 years...nor is that the world they live in.

Totally agree. Eloquently put.

I LOVED this show so much, but I fell out of watching several seasons ago, and given where it was going, I've never quite been able to pick it up again and catch up, though I sometimes consider doing so. The idea of a Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover kinda makes me want to laugh until I cry.

We'll be laughing and crying together. Maybe I'm wrong, and it'll be a stunning episode.

Yep. That worked because it was a hallucination. I was leery of that, but ultimately all right with it.

However.

A friend of mine interviewed the new showrunner and he explained that it's All Fine because, although the 2 shows will crossover, Ichabod and Abbie believe in forensics, so it's fine for them, and Booth and Brennan will never see/interact with anything supernatural, so it's all fine.

See above re: CHANGES EVERYTHING.

The fact that the new guy doesn't see that they're changing the very fabric of the reality in which B&B's lives exist????...that does not bode well.

I think everyone who retreated when they saw the sharks circling a few years ago were wise. I just kept hoping that they would have a bumpy, maybe even emergency landing, but that we wouldn't end up in the territory of "And if by chance we crash/We'll say it's what we always planned./We can take you flying/We just don't know how to land."

I guess I knew the risks when I signed on...

urk.

I loves 'Sleepy Hollow'. I do. But it doesn't belong with 'Bones'. Really doesn't.

I think I just saw a shark swim by.....

Oh, the sharks have been CIRCLING.

But I've been hoping that the leak in the boat was enough that not everyone would end up in the water.

HOWEVER.

See above re: friend's interview with the new showrunner.
