What makes me a genius? There are things that are just, you know, obvious. For example: many, many cases of bipolar disorder are comorbid with schizophrenia. And in families with rampant bipolar disorder, there is ubiquitous ADD and ADHD. There are two main forms of high functioning autism: the type that leans toward ADD (usually inattentive rather than ADHD) and the type that leans toward OCD. And in families with people with autism, there is a higher-than-average incidence of OCD. And in all of the above, there are relatives with depression and anxiety. When you dig back in time, you find that families with high incidence of bipolar disorder, OCD, depression, anxiety, and ADD/ADHD *ALL* have a high incidence of historic alcoholism (self-medication, you know ( ... )

Wow!! We both have been thinking it's all related and now Scientific Am. has published info that seems to have data to justify what we have both suspected for some time. You are so bright and have such insight into these conditions. Who would have thought there would be a connection between you and CA? Because of your family dynamics you all would be a good study in genetic causes of some of these conditions. It explains a great deal how these changes also occur over time and how they exacerbate at certain stages in life. I will call tomorrow on cheap time to talk more. You maybe need to get a PhD in some branch of these disorders as you see so much with kids at home and at school.
