Especially with all the alarmist talk about Islam--bred largely by a lack of knowledge of the religion--I often wish for more opportunities to share the more positive aspects of the religion. And, yes, dogs are considered problematic, while cats are accepted.

Yep, this was a big moment for blind Muslims. Now, if only *some* Muslim taxi drivers would let us in their cabs, or *some* Muslim Doctors let us in their surgeries. It's still a problem but, hopefully, this will go some way to solving it.

I was so excited to find this and to see that the family and the Imam and his entire worship community are making this an outreach program to try and influence the cab drivers and doctors and others who aren't willing to bend that rule because they've never seen a situation where, religiously, it's been allowed.

I hope the improvement keeps happening. Access is SO important. And I want to make sure that folks THIS side of the pond see the video to see that the accommodation has been made in the UK so they can spread the word that it's possible here too; cane travel is just not enough for many, many folks's independence, I know.

That is such a good point about the kinds of situations where Islam gets media attention.

I'm glad things worked out so well about the guide dog.
