Look! Look what havocthecat wrote for ME!!!! "Could They Choose Between" is a DELIGHTFUL FK story. It's first season, before everything went all wrong. It's Natalie and Janette interacting. It's perfectly in Janette's voice and has that light, ironic, wry, PERFECT center of amusement in EVERY WORD

OMG. You are so good for my writerly ego. Isn't Janette wonderful? I'd started out intending to write from Natalie's POV (because, well, Natalie), but what came out was Janette's POV instead. And she's hard to write, but so amazing!

I'm reallyreally glad you loved this. I love Natalie when she's in first season best, and I love writing first season fic. And Janette? I strongly believe that if she hadn't approved of Natalie when they met, and if she hadn't found that core of strength and caring (and protectiveness!) inside Nat, that she'd have found some way to "accidentally" let Nick become aware of whatever triggered her concerns. (Because Janette is, at heart, far more like Lacroix than she would ever, ever want to admit, and probably than she even does admit to herself, even if she never would take things so far as he takes them.)

I can't wait to get a chance to dig my way through the rest of these stories. So many wonderful fics! It's going to take forever to get through them, and there are even a couple more fics on
