Flower garden upgrade

The first or second year we lived here, I planted a few daffodils along the side of the house where there is a strip of dirt that actually gets a bit of sun in the morning. Every year I've added a few more. The paper whites from one year did not make it at all ( Read more... )

Heh. Here the ground it still frozen and covered by more than a foot of snow.

I forget how much faster spring comes down there than up here. We won't even have lilacs by Mother's Day, especially this year.

And here the weather and planting season is at least a month behind SoIL which is another 300 miles south. Our daffodis had already sprouted up 3 inches or so (of the greens) and a couple had buds. And today it's snowing and cold.

We'll see how many flowers die after my little wrong-time-of-year escapade.

No real worries. It may be snowing and cold, but not cold enough to hurt bulbs in the ground.

Up here, the daffodils often have a day of snow.
