My kids are really independent and self-sufficient and I LOVE it.

They surprise me sometimes.

Tonight I walked into the kitchen and Ben had made himself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on toast.

... and, once again, Ben is mastering skills that I don't think I had a grip on until my late teens/twenties. Go Ben!

He really does rock. And it helps that he has his older sister (10 1/2 months difference) blazing the path. He idolizes her and she sets a great example. I'm SO lucky!
