The SGC is not, nor should it be mistaken for, Sunnydale High. The individuals working at the SGC are no, nor should they be mistaken for, lustful, rutting teenagers. See, as a fourteen year old child, I still hold true to to teh fact that smut disgusts me and always will, end of story. (As well it should.)

Plus: I've been watching it! Really! And now I have a basic concept of who everyone is! =O

This is the appropriate response to smut!

For someone rather older, reading primarily about characters who are rather older, and who I believe can be healthy beings and also simultaneously sexual beings, I don't have a problem with fic that explores that...so long as it's in character

Oh...silly me. I expect continuity? Adherance to canon? Character consistency? The ability to recognize in fic the characters I've seen from the show? Adherence in fanfic to the rules of the universe?

Silly, silly me.

No! It's actually one of my favorite artists, of Tegan and Sara.

Amen, sister. I was reading a lovely Sam/Janet story once and then... nookie AT the SGC. HELLO? These are two career military women. Officers. NO.

Possibly, they'd be out of control with lust and smooch... and then they'd take it elsewhere. Immediately.

No KIDDING. And that's what prompted this post--a third-in-a-row Sam/Jack going at it in his office, in her lab, in a supply closet and (gods help us all) off-frelling-world.

Yeah.

And not only with the taking it elsewhere, but it puts a damper on the mood for me when all I can think is, "Court martial!"
