I absolutely adore this essay comparing Bush to Prince Hal. Interesting history of the perceptions of Henry V and of the various comparisons that can be drawn.

I must use this in class since we're doing Henry IV, Part 1 this fall. Sadly, we're doing it just after the election after we do Richard II. Even so ( Read more... )

Thanks for finding this. God, I love Shakespeare. He has something for every occasion.

Giuliani's Monday night speech reminded me of the St. Crispin's Day speech. It was a very "band of brothers" sort of text, his NYC edgy vernacular style. Perhaps you could do something with political language--compare soliloquys to political speeches and see what kind of language gets used.
